The CEBA program provides financial assistance to businesses that plan
a major capital investment that will create new job opportunities and/or
retain existing jobs in Iowa.
The EDSA program provides assistance to businesses that create new employment opportunities and/or retain existing jobs and make new capital investment in Iowa. The amount of funding is based on the number of jobs created or retained. Funds are provided in the form of loans and forgivable loans. At least 51 percent of the created/retained employment opportunities must be made available to individuals presently earning wages defined as low or moderate income.
The Grow Iowa Values Financial Assistance Program funds projects that are focused on job creation or retention, value-added agriculture and entrepreneurial efforts.
The Iowa Value-Added Agricultural Products and Processes Financial Assistance Program provides financial assistance to new or existing companies that utilize the state's agricultural commodities to create new, higher-value products or produce renewable fuels and co-products (including soy diesel, ethanol and other renewable fuels).
Through USDA, guaranteed loans may be obtained for small businesses.
This program is designed to promote the creation of quality jobs by assisting businesses locating, expanding or modernizing their facilities in Iowa.
Enterprise Zones encourages mutual development objectives between communities and private business to promote economic investment in targeted areas. Developments that occur within the Enterprise Zone may be eligible to apply for benefits under the program.
The Entrepreneurial Ventures Assistance (EVA) program provides financial and technical assistance to early-stage technology companies. An eligible business must be located in Iowa and in an industry sector offering the greatest start-up and growth potential for the state, including but not limited to: biotechnology, recyclable materials, software development and computer related products, advanced materials, advanced manufacturing, and medical and surgical instruments. Financial assistance of up to $50,000 may be awarded for the purchase of machinery, equipment or other business acceleration expenses.
Targeted Small Business Financial Assistance Program
The Targeted Small Business Financial Assistance Program is designed to assist in the creation and expansion of Iowa small businesses that have annual gross sales under $3 million and are at least 51 percent owned, operated and managed by women, minorities or persons with a disability.
The Entrepreneurs with Disabilities program helps qualified individuals with disabilities establish, acquire, maintain or expand a small business by providing technical and financial assistance.
PIAP provides financial assistance for projects having a statewide impact and substantial private investment with the opportunity to create high-wage jobs.
This program is administered by the Iowa Department of Transportation for expenditures on city, county and state highways to help attract new development or to support growth with existing developments.
The Railroad Revolving Loan and Grant (RRLG) program provides financial assistance to improve rail facilities that will create jobs, spur economic activity and improve the rail transportation system in Iowa.
The program provides financial assistance to businesses and industries to create new job opportunities. Assistance is provided to encourage business start-ups, expansions, new capital investment, and/or the relocation of out-of-state businesses into Iowa. Assistance is provided in the form of direct or forgivable loans.
